Hittin' the Trail

We love hittin' the trail so Steve found this great hike we could all go on. Not too crazy, just straight up hill on the way back. Ha. I packed Katy in and made Steve pack her out. He is so nice to let me feel like I am helping when he's really gettin the brunt of the load. Steve actually found this trail a few weeks before when he was with the young mens at youth conference.

We had a great time!

The gang! Team Beardshall!

Spencer and Jenny, they were good to come on the fly!

The Poulsen clan.

Although the thought of Katy harboring diphtheria water in her cast didn't sound great...I reluctantly agreed to let her in! She was sure happy that I did!

Chris, Carter and Jordyn went for the dip.

Yup the straight up hill I was talking about!

Naenae and Ken!

Craft Corner

Who wants to have some fun? Aside from getting paint all over my jeans, this was a great idea that I had! Ha. Steve said that I really wanted to paint a pot so I signed up Katy to do it. I would agree but Katy did a great job on her own, I didn't really need to help much. I love the Marriot, they do a great job with fun kid things!

The work of art.

The Artists.

Ummmm....HA! Steve was a good sport to adorn this beautiful hat for my pic!

We drove up the the Road Island Diner in Oakley after. I thought it was pretty good. Fun to have an adventure to go on after craft corner!

Gimmie Smore

What better than to have Smores on the plaza? Not much. Especially since we were accompanied by these mallows! Look at these things! "Um, excuse me. I ordered the LARGE cappuccino, hello!' Ha, that's what I felt like. But hey you cant go wrong when you are making smores with smore mallows!

Great time, thanks Heidi for hookin' us up!

Katy thought this idea was GENIUS!

But only when she was holding the fire poker!

Paige liked her's a little crispy!

Yup, smores are the BEST!

Swimmy, Swimmy

Katy was in HEAVEN in Park City! This girl loves the water. I always used to think I liked the water so much because I am a Pieces. If that's the case, I'm not sure why Katy love's it so much? I guess like mother like daughter. I am claiming this because Steve is not a fan. I had to pull teeth to get him in the water. He was perfectly happy reading a book though!

Here is some of the fun:

This is Jo Jo's new favorite face! It made me laugh.

Totally blown out but cute pic none the less.....awwww!

Pour Paige, she really did have a blast at the pool. But probably not after she jumped in over in the corner and hit her chin on the side of the pool! Poor thing had to get stitches! Um she is a champ to say the least!

Love this picture of Joanne!

Brynn liked the water, but not the sun in her face!

I LOVE waterproof casts! Katy was rockin' the sun glasses!

The PC

Every year we have the opportunity to go to Park City. We always have a blast and this year was no exception. Tonight we had a blast at the park!

I LOVE swing pictures!!!

Ha, Hayden had a great time too!

Awwww...

Katy enjoyed the "spider web" thanks to Chris. She's a climber!!!

The Market

As always we try to make it to the downtown farmers market. And as always we had a great time. Great for people watching for sure. Also we purchased our favorite thing. Yummy, scrumptious honey butter from Knight Family Farm. SO GOOD! Great for crackers or anything for that matter!

The gang, Roger and Joanne couldn't make it this year.

Some of the people watching I was talking about. I guess he is just really enjoying the music, it was good music for sure!

Happy Birthday Roger

My Father-in-law Roger is so funny. All he wanted for his birthday is to go to the temple as a family. I felt like I was getting off easy: hang out with family....check, goin' to the temple....check. Both are things that I already like doing. We even went to dinner afterwards. We had so much fun I think we'll try to do it again next year.

It's funny you think going to the temple is no problem. Um we have a kid now. No problem we'll just get a babysitter. Mom! Oh you have plans? Hum......Katie! Yup, Katie saved the day when her and Zach decided to come over! They had a good time too. This was Katy's first encounter with the movie Bolt, but not her last! Way cute movie too....the first 10 times! We have no joke watched this thing once a day since they left. She LOVEs it!!!!

Thanks again Katie and Zach, you are so awesome. Plus Katy had a blast, maybe we can do it again sometime??? Love ya!

This picture was snapped up in Park City. All the grand kids are trying to hold up 60 fingers. That is right, SIXTY!!! Way to go Rog. People are like cars, they don't get going until they hit about 75!

Girls Night!

You have to have a girls night every once and a while, right? Well when we have girls nights, we really know how to have them! We ventured to the new Twilight movie and had a blast, like always. I have some pretty die hard fans in my ward/hood so we had a pre party of course!

They actually had a T-shirt making party, but I had just gotten back from the Wasatch Back and was totally drained, so I passed. Let's just say I felt left out at the movie for sure! Ha

Jena planned the greatest pre party. I was laughing so hard! They even set up a tent. Seriously a tent? I didn't get it. I must admit....I HAVENT READ THE BOOKS! Oh the shame! Hopefully you are not judging me right now! Ha. I heard about the hype and I decided to watch the first movie....by myself when Steve was at work. Needless to say, I was NOT impressed. But I must admit that I like the second much better. Maybe it was because my neighbors made it so much fun.

I like them now! Does that help! We had a great time! Thanks Ladies. I stole these pictures from Stacy's blog....thanks!

Two thumbs up for sure!

Hangin' out in the tent!

Weekend Fun

We obviously missed out on the fireworks this year, for good reason. Kind of sad considering I worked hard to get Katy excited about the "boom boom sparkies" as she calls them! But we still had a great 4th of July weekend.

We ate lunch at the park...

This is my Martha Stewart attempt at a skirt. Brit sent me a really cute, and fairly easy pattern to follow. I could't find anything I liked and a girl's got to have a 4th of July outfit, right? Well here is my attempt. We figured it was good to wear all weekend.

Katy was more than happy to show me where she hurt her leg. Still lookin' festive thanks to Shenna's wrap! She was getting pretty used to having us carry her all over the place. At the park she directed me to put her in her "strolie" and "push" her around. Yup, she was pretty good at giving us orders to take her around!

And Wendy had us over for dinner. They had a big party with Chris's family and had a lot of leftovers. I am always available for leftovers, by the way!

Joanne showed me that even though I don't know squat about doing hair, you can still pull out a french braid on this thing! All you need is a little help from an otter pop.

The finished product.

We had a pretty good time playing with the chalk too. Steve whipped out Katy's favorite Mickey Mouse.

Katy did too, can't you see the resemblance? Very impressive Katy!

The Bird

Summer catch up is in full swing here on Team Beardshall.

This is becoming her signature "cheese" face!

In June I had the opportunity to spend some time up at the Bird, Snowbird that is. A blast as always. Unfortunately this is also where Katy learned how to climb out of the pack and play (and the next week her crib!!!!).

We had a great time, it was awesome to get to spend some time with Brit and her family too. Poor mom had to go home early because she got sick!

We went to the plaza and ate some ice cream.

This was Katy and Brynn's treat, TJ and Gage's treat was an all day pass. They had a blast.

Katy had fun making faces at herself in the cliff lodge windows...

And even though Katy had nothing to do with looking at my camera, we took some cute pics at the bottom of the canyon. Albion basin was still covered with snow.

It was beautiful. We had a great time!

One Fish, Two Fish, Rope Swing, Blue Fish!

Just catching up here. Steve decided he wanted an IPad and we sold my desk top. I am not on the laptop and trying to get all my pics organized!

How do you have a good time? Drive up the the rope swing. I think the guys discovered this when they last had a guys night and stayed at Bryson's cabin.

I am a thrill seeker for sure. But I have to admit that I totally wussed out on this one. I can do extreme things, but when it involves two then I have to make a judgement call. Not only did this involve height, but water. Hey I could not only die from the fall but I could drownd too! Too risky, no thanks!

Plus this thing was pretty high up there. 20ft? Too high for me. Again I am a wuss for sure!

Here is Andrew showing us how it's done:
Steve went, of course. We ran across some issues with this jump. Let me rewind to our first few months of marriage. Steve had read somewhere on his mission that if you scare your "partner" once a day you have a closer relationship. He felt like he got along pretty well with his companions so I was subjected to this school of thought. I must admit we do have a great relationship. But the scaring each other stopped when the "incident" happened. We were up at the married student housing at the U. I decided that I wanted to try this out and jumped out into the bathroom while Steve was cleaning out his ears. Well you can guess what happened next....the Q Tip went straight in. When he pulled it out he collapsed on the floor and said that he was dizzy! He insisted he was fine but when he went to work that night a coworker pointed out that there was blood dripping out of it! We found an instacare that was open until midnight and we went for a visit. The doctor informed us that he could not see what damage was done because there was far too much blood in there! He asked us to come back, and even said he would not charge us a copay. Did Steve go back? NO! Why? I have no idea!?!

This brings us to the rope swing. He went under the water and almost didn't come up! He said that he almost passed out under there from all the pressure on his ear! Um hello!!! Get your ear checked! ( Love you, just trying to paint a picture). So one time was enough for him!

Steve is watching with Katy on the seat that Ang made for us, thanks for that! Do you want to know how to freak your kid out? Take them to the rope swing. Katy screamed her lovely scream every time someone let go of the rope! We finally got her to calm down after a while. Poor thing...what we subject her to!

The Davis's

The money shot. This is Bryson's best shot. He was making us all laugh so hard. I think on the last jump he tried to do a back flip but ended up doing a belly flop on his side! Ouch, but way funny!

Rachel showed me and Ang up and actually went off this thing, twice! Hey good job! She insisted that Andrew yell "LET GO" when she was supposed to release the rope so she wouldn't come back and hit the tree!

This is Davis's money shot....very GQ! Ha!

The Duncans.

Katy looks pretty pleased that we are leaving here. Ha, she is so funny!

And this is Katy's money shot.....the motorcycle mag shot! Too bad Steve hauled this thing all the way up just to find that he left his keys at home.

Hey we had a good time anyhow! Maybe next time I'll grow a pair and give it a try.....probably not though!
